Renowned Sinologist Professor Susanne Weigelin-Schwiedrzik recently delivered a lecture in Tübingen, Germany, titled "The United States, China, and Russia: Can the Three Great Powers Reach Consensus on How to Reorganize the World?" Professor Weigelin-Schwiedrzik has spent half a century researching 20th-century Chinese historiography, 19th and 20th-century Chinese and East Asian history, contemporary Chinese discourse on the Great Famine and Cultural Revolution, and contemporary Chinese policy, particularly issues concerning state-society relations, public health, ethnic minorities, urbanization, and the environment. She also comments on China's foreign policy and domestic political developments. After retiring in 2020, she continues to teach Chinese history at the University of Vienna and Vienna Diplomatic Academy, and has served as a member of the Austrian Academy of Sciences since 2022.
