Will the People's Liberation Army "reunify" Taiwan by force in 2027? This question affects global political and economic strategy and has drawn intense domestic and international attention. Looking back at Chinese Communist Party General Secretary Xi Jinping's decade of "consolidating power," at the 20th Party Congress held in late 2022, among the 205 Central Committee members selected, military representatives increased from 41 seats in both the 18th Congress (205 total Central Committee members) and 19th Congress (204 total Central Committee members) to 44 seats. Beyond this numerical growth, the current military Central Committee membership has several notable characteristics.

First, the two Central Committee seats previously held by the Equipment Development Department in the 19th Congress were replaced by the Logistical Support Department. While developing missile technology and foreign military transactions remains important, the principle that "an army marches on its stomach" means logistics work is self-evidently crucial in military operations. The 20th Congress's elevation of logistics naturally leads to associations with military preparations for operations against Taiwan.
